Inside the novel Issues Fall Apart, Ikemefuna is a small boy obtained from a neighboring village to account for the killing of a woman of Umuofia. Having been set to live with Okonkwo, a prosperous man and wrestler, wonderful family until his setup came. Okonkwo and his family, especially his son Nwoye, became attached to Ikemefuna and liked him very much. It took three years to get the oracle to decide it turned out time for Ikemefuna to pass away, and even though Okonkwo did not have to do it himself, since Ikemefuna referred to him as daddy, he sent the eliminating blow. While both becoming men, Okonkwo and Nwoye tried to cover their emotions over Ikemefuna's death; however , as the reader one knows that Okonkwo felt depressed and weak although Nwoye was just as frustrated as his father, but also disappointed in him.
Okonkwo knowledgeable depression. " Okonkwo would not taste any food for two days following your death of Ikemefuna. He drank palm-wine from morning hours till night time and his sight were red and brutal like the eyes of a verweis when trapped by the end and dashed against the floor. ” (Achebe ) Okonkwo clearly reveals the common indications of depression, when he loses hunger and begins to drink much more. A person, in this case Okonkwo, does not desire to eat and it is very common for individuals that are despondent to block their heartaches with alcohol, thinking it will help them. Okonkwo also stayed at in his hut avoiding everybody during this time, also his relatives, which allows the reader find out Pichardo 2 that he does not want people to observe him to be weak as it reminds him of his father. A rat which has been caught by tail can be helpless, therefore Achebe is attempting to describe just how Okonkwo seems, helpless. He also begins to talk upon himself. " When do you become a shivering older woman, ” Okonkwo asked himself, " you, whom are well-known in all the nine villages to your valor in war? Just how can a man who have killed five men in...
